The Lilydale Rifle Club was
founded in 1887 and has been shooting at the Upper Yarra Rifle Range since 1969.
We are an active and energetic Full-bore Rifle Club, based at the Upper Yarra
Rifle Range, Wesburn, Victoria, Australia.
Members shoot each Saturday afternoon starting at 12:30 pm, shooting
distances from 300 to 700 yards in .308 and .223 calibres.
Our members range in age from teenagers to experienced shooters in their 80's.

the Range of a Saturday afternoon and check it out!
We would be happy to talk with you about the sport and the types of rifles
and configurations you can use.
Give Target Shooting a Go!
If you would like to "Have a Go", you will need to contact the Club and
arrange an appointment.
This will allow us to schedule a time for you and ensure we have a club
rifle and ammunition available
for you to use.

You will only need to pay for the ammo - $15 for 10 shots.
The next 3 Dates are
the19th May
(BOOKED OUT), 16th June (BOOKED OUT) and 7th July 2012.
You will need to book at least 10 days before these dates.
Please confirm names and mobile numbers for attendees - we may need to
contact you at short notice if there is a problem at the range - ie.
Weather...
Once you book and are confirmed, you will need to be at the Range by 10:45
AM for an 11:00 AM start on the allocated Day.
Sighting Hunting Rifles
For those shooters looking to sight in a
hunting rifle, the Lilydale Club will be running a session once every five
to six weeks depending on the time of year.
We will also spend some time with you to talk about Safety, Barrel Run In,
Cleaning and General Maintenance of your firearms if you want us to.
Sighting sessions will be booked on a first come, first served basis.
A maximum of 4 will be scheduled on a Saturday morning from 10:45 AM, so we
will be finished before the "normal" shooting activities start at 12:30 PM.
Cost for the session will be $25 per Shooter. You will need to bring
your own ammo.
The next 2 Dates are 23rd June and 21st July 2012. - You
will need to book at least 10 days before these dates.

** NOTE **
If you have purchased a new rifle, it will need to be "Run In" before
you sight it in. We can help you with this if you need help.
Be aware, it can be a time consuming exercise to do it properly!
You will need a QUALITY, one piece cleaning rod with Bronze & Nylon
Brushes, a good powder solvent and a good copper remover
and a roll or
lots of cut patches (2" x 1" for .30 Cal) to do the job.

REGULATIONS
The Upper Yarra
Rifle Range is Licensed for use by the Victorian Police under section
179 of the Firearms Act 1996
Current Permit 118B-2001, dated 16th April 2010.
Please be advised that no shooting is allowed on the range unless
authorised and controlled by the Rifle Club.
When shooting is under way, Flags must be
displayed and a Qualified Range Officer in
attendance.
Shooting without these is a chargeable offence and is actively monitored
by the Victorian Police.
